DIABETES

Diabetes is a systemic
disorder that affects numerous
organs in the body.
The feet are no exception. Damage
to the blood vessels, nerve endings,
and skin combine to endanger the
foot and leg. Diligent care on the
part of the patient and doctor are
necessary to keep the patient
from developing gangrene and
osteomylitis (infection of the bone)
which results in amputation.
